Head coach of Barcelona, Roland Koeman has been sacked after 14 months in office at Camp Nou
This took place on Wednesday 27th October;
right after their 1-0 defeat by Rayo Vallecano.
This leaves the club ninth in La Liga.
And currently six points off of the top of La Liga Readers.
Barca has won only two out of last seven league games under Koeman.
Speaking after Wednesday’s defeat, Koeman admitted that his team was not doing well.
Koeman took charge at the Camp Nou in 2020.
However, the Dutchman could not arrest the decline due to the club’s financial crisis that lead to the departure of superstar Lionel Messi.
Hence, the club could not afford to buy in new players for the season.
The President of the club, Joan Laporta informed Koeman of the decision after the defeat against Rayo Vallecano.
“Ronald Koeman will say goodbye to the squad on Thursday.” He said.
Barcelona thanked Koeman for his services and wished him good luck in his career in a short statement.
