Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, says President Muhammadu Buhari is dealing with a very difficult situation as it relates to the security challenges in the country.
He made the remark on Monday after a closed-door meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Briefing State House correspondents, the speaker explains he was at the Villa to rub minds with President Buhari on security.
“We spoke about security, we spoke about the economy and also spoke about politics, and he has a listening ear
However, when we proffer ideas; he tells us his own views and we come to some consensus one way or the other,” he said.
According to him, the President also listens to ideas and is keen on bringing solutions to the Country’s ongoing crisis.
While declining to disclose any of the ideas, Gbajabiamila hints on something was in the works.
Adding that the National Assembly would give every assitance to the President to reach a consensus on the nation’s Security.
The speaker noted that the House of Representatives had passed a resolution and set up a special ad-hoc committee.
“You are aware that the House of Representatives some time ago passed a resolution and we set up a special ad-hoc committee,
which involves all principal officers and 30 other members of the House.
“We are going to start that process into looking at different solutions and we will be bringing the report;
And also ensure the president is fully aware of it and he is open to anything and everything as possible solution
