President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday mourned the Chief Imam of Uthman Bin Affan Islamic Centre, Abuja, Imam Abduljalil Dabo.
According to a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, the President described the late Imam as a bold and courageous cleric, who was always speaking truth to power.
The statement reads in part: “President Muhammadu Buhari joined thousands of Muslims in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, in mourning the demise of Imam Abduljalil Dabo, the Chief Imam of the Uthman Bin Affan Islamic Centre, located at opposite Banex/Emab plazas, Wuse 2, Abuja.
Representing the president at the funeral, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami, described the deceased cleric, Imam Dabo as a rare leader, bold and courageous enough to say the truth to those in power.
President Buhari, noted that “the people of the FCT have lost a teacher and guide, and Muslim in the country a leader bestowed with unique qualities and strength. We pray to Allah to reward his good deed.”
