English striker of Nigerian descent Adebayo Akinfenwa is on holidays visiting his mother and fatherland. The 39-year-old striker whose contract with Wycombe Wanderers expires this month campaigned in the EFL Championship. The heavy built forward posted a picture with Nigerian police on Instagram aiming a stylish dig at them.

And he accompanied his post on the social media platform with the message ‘Who’s protecting who’ with different

hashtags to support his cryptic message.

Akinfenwa helped The Chairboys gained promotion to the EFL Championship at the end of the 2019-20 season. However, their debut season in the English second-tier competition as they finished 22nd on the log and will be

back in the League One in the 2021-22 campaign. The striker scored once in 33 league appearances for the Adams

Park Stadium outfit while they finished with 43 points after 46 games. Meanwhile, he will be club-less at the end of this month as the club is unlikely to hand him an extension having spent five seasons with them.

He scored 54 goals and 38 assists in 254 appearances in all competitions during his reign at the club while lifting

the EFL League One play-offs trophy in 2020. He also has several other individual and team glories.
