The civil society for leadership and followership has commit to rally massive enrollment of members of the informal sector into the micro-pension scheme of Pension Commission (PENCOM).
The chairperson of the group, Mr. Adams Otakwu, diclosed this in a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday.
While speaking, Adams said the current micro-pension scheme of the national pension commission (PENCOM) under the leadership of Hajiya Aisha Umar, is well structured to deliver valuable benefit to the citizens in the informal sector with regards to their old age condition.
He further noted, that over 60% of citizens in the informal sector who are unaware or ill-informed on the micro-pension are currently been targeted to enlightenment by the micro- pension scheme. Adams noted that the micro-pension scheme strategy by the current management is to scale up sensitization on the benefit, essence and impact of the scheme as remedy for old miseries.
Also, he added that if the current drive by the current management of the national pension commission is revamp, the pension industry is sustained.
He however urge Nigerians and the Nigeria youth, artisans, entrepreneurs and members of the informal sector to enroll in the micro-pension scheme in order to ensure befitting retirement and old age lives.
