The Ministry of Mines and Steel Development on Wednesday welcomes a new permanent secretary to the ministry headquarters in Abuja.

The new permanent secretary, Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade while speaking at the Handover ceremony solicited for support to achieve the feat ahead.

According to Dr. Akinlade, the work ahead is daunting and as such, all hands must be on deck to achieve more milestones.

“Our work is cut out for us, the mandate is very clear, the work is daunting, but a very good foundation has been laid for us”.

Mrs Akinlade added that with the foundation laid, hard work and dedication should be imbibed.

“I am going to need your support, I solicit for your support the way you have supported the outgoing permanent secretary

“Please support me even more because am not going plead gender-sensitivity, you all know that this is Africa, men are meant to support”.

Earlier, the outgoing Permanent Secretary, Mr Edet Akpan while appreciating the members of staff for their support and hard work noted that with continued commitment not too long from now, Nigeria will soon assume the status of the greatest mining nation.

He thereby urged members of staff of the ministry to support Dr. Akinlade to achieve many milestones in the ministry.

“I am very pleased to announce our new permanent secretary, Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade, i assure you that her leadership here will be very supporting, Kindly extend the needed support to her”.
