In commemoration of Nigeria’s 60th Independence Anniversary, the federal government has asked the Federal Secretariat Phases 1-3 to close all official activities on Wednesday as the major event to mark the celebration will be held at the Eagles Square, Abuja.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folashade Yemi-Esan in Abuja on Tuesday.

The statement in parts read: “As you are aware, one of the major activities marking the celebration of the 60th Independence of Nigeria is taking place in the Eagles square on October 1st 2020.

“Consequently, the federal secretariat phases 1-3, would be required to close for official business with effect from 2:00 pm on Wednesday, 30th September 2020. 

“For security reasons, workers are expected to vacate the premises on or before 2:00 pm”.
