The Presidential Task Force on Covid- 19 warns Nigerians to avoid Christmas carol, non-essential travels, family get together and anything that can escalate the cases of coronavirus in the country as the year ends.

The Task Force issue this warning during their weekly Covid- 19 briefing.

They said Nigeria has rank fifth country in Africa with the highest cases of Covid- 19 and deaths.

Chairman of the PTF, Boss Mustapha, the national coordinator, Sani Aliyu, Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire and the Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Chikwe Ihekweazu that spoke on the state of Covid- 19 in the country says cases of coronavirus in the world has passed 63 million and the countries that have higher number of infections are countries that Nigeria have political, business and family relations with.

Rules given for the Festive Period

They said America can witness more cases of Covid 19 infections after the Thanksgiving holiday, the same should not happen in Nigeria, they advice saying;

  1. Nigerians that are abroad should not visit Nigeria this Christmas and if they must come, they must follow all the Covid- 19 international travels protocol.
  2. They discourage non-essential travelling within Nigeria, if it is not important, don’t go anywhere.
  3. Avoid Christmas carols
  4. Avoid large gatherings
  5. Face Mask is compulsory
  6. Wash hands regularly
  7. Maintain social distancing
  8. And obey all the Covid – 19 rule
