President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his profound support for the second term reelection bid of Ondo state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.
The governorship elections of the state is on Oct. 10th.
Buhari disclosed this on Wednesday saying his admiration for the governor was because of achievements of Akeredolu’s first term in office.
He said: “I have no doubt that Governor Akeredolu is a good brand for the APC to market. I am particularly delighted by his ingenious approach to governance. His performance within the limits of available resources is endearing.”
“Governor Akeredolu deserves to be re-elected to consolidate the good work he commenced in his first term. I am not just proud of his achievements; I am confident he will enjoy the mandate of the good people of Ondo State for the second term.
Recalled, Broom News reported that the All Progressives Congress National Campaign Committee on Ondo State Governorship Election has projected a 55-58 per cent margin of victory in favour of Akeredolu.
However, no fewer than 11 political parties have merged and collapsed their structures to support the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Eyitayo Jegede ahead of the election.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Police and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have deployed 33,783 and 7,079 personnel respectively for the smooth conduct of the election.
