The Federal Government makes COVID-19 vaccination compulsory for civil servants

The Federal Government has made it mandatory that civil servants receive vaccination against COVID19.

The secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha who discloses this to newsmen on Wednesday, October 13, said beginning from December 1, they will be requiring civil servants to show their COVID19 vaccination before they can gain access into any government office.

Speaking at a press conference, Mustapha who is also the chairman of the presidential steering committee (PSC) on COVID-19, said;

Taking effect from 1st December 2021, they will require Federal Government employees to show proof of COVID19 vaccination or present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result done within 72 hours, to gain access to their offices, in all locations within Nigeria and our Missions. There will be the issuance of an appropriate service-wide advisory/circular to guide the process.

He added that over the last four weeks, tests have shown that the trend of infection was going down in some states while in others it had gone upward, noting that a combined total for testing by PCR and RDT now stands at about 3.141,795 million persons.

Mustapha also disclosed that talks were going on with the United Arab Emirates to resolve the impasse.
