It is almost a week since death of Alec Baldwin’s Director of Cinematography, Halyna Hutchins who was
shot accidentally on set of a movie scene
Ms Hutchins served as Alec’s director of photography for His new movie ‘Rust’
which they were shooting in New Mexico.
According to reports, Alec shot a prop gun on the set of the movie that killed Hutchins also wounding director Joel Souza
Hutchins was immediately flown to the University of New Mexico Hospital and later pronounced dead.
Joel Souza was taken to a local hospital for his injuries
The NBC later confirmed Souza’s release on Friday.
Although charges have not filed yet,
authorities have launched an investigation into the shooting event that happened on Thursday.
A statement from the Santa Fe sheriff’s office confirmed that Baldwin, lead actor and producer of the film Rust, had fired the prop gun in an incident on Thursday, which also wounded the movie’s director.
Baldwin on Friday posted a statement on Twitter saying: “There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours,”
Rust Movie Productions LLC said in a statement, added, “We have halted production on the film for an undetermined period of time and are fully cooperating with the Santa Fe Police Department’s investigation. We will be providing counseling services to everyone connected to the film as we work to process this awful event”
